Movement is Medicine!

Movement doesn’t have to be complicated.

I know it can feel like an overwhelming burden. Something you have to do. But when you really tune into how much it will improve your quality of life and learn how to incorporate it logically, sustainably and obtainable, it just makes sense. And it will become something you want to do.

For so many reasons…. But here are a few:

1️⃣ Improved energy gains over time.

2️⃣ Boost of endorphins = boost of mood.

3️⃣ Motion is lotion. (Better joint health)

4️⃣ Helps to release trauma. (Somatic healing)

5️⃣ Enhances blood flow capabilities.

6️⃣ Improved gut health.

7️⃣ Increases confidence.

8️⃣ More exposure to fresh air.

I was so intimidated by getting back into movement during postpartum so I took a very intuitive approach because I had little to no hormonal rhythm back yet to follow. I asked my body, “what do you want?” everyday.

The results were beautiful. My body was craving movement, intensely. But it was also craving fresh air and sunshine. The solution, lots and lots of walking.

It brought me back to life. It gave me time to think and process everything I and my body had gone through since Maya was born. It gave me time to process everything Maya had gone through. It got me ample amounts of vitamin D. It got me fresh air. I got to watch summer change to fall through the beautiful colors of the leaves. (Swipe for a picture).

And it was simple. But it was perfect. It healed me in more ways than one.

So if movement and exercise feel overwhelming for you today, ask your body what it wants to do. I guarantee it wants to move. It may just not know where to start. So get out, go for a walk, tune into the nature sounds and enjoy. ☀️
