I'm really not into exercise culture...

Updated: May 20, 2022

Unpopular opinion? Possibly. But our bodies are so intuitive, when are we going to start trusting in that?

I get it. It’s really hard in todays world to be tuned in but honestly, I would say it’s more important than almost anything when it comes to your health.

It’s like getting frustrated when *there’s no apples in the bowl when the bowl has been sitting there empty… for a while.*

We have to tune in.

We have to pay attention.

We have to prioritize this.

Our bodies communicate with us in so many ways and it’s up to us to listen. To stop our busy lives for long enough to honor what our body is telling us so we can make shifts that support it.

So when it comes to exercise, no, I don’t like classes that have a very regimented and specific workout routines that don’t consider the individual. And I don’t like the pressure we feel in a group situation to do what everyone else is doing.

I like movement that is based off of what our body is communicating to us. I like movement that is started off with the overarching message being to listen to your body, not what the person next to you is doing.

Can you push it hard to cause shifts in your body? Yes!

Movement is ESSENTIAL to our health and well-being. It is ESSENTIAL to our quality of life long term. I just want you engaging in movement that is supporting your body instead of working against it.

I agree with the positive impact community can have so go to that group workout class if it’s what gets you moving but don’t perform 20 reps if your body was communicating to you that it needs a break at 15. Listen.

You’re still going to get a good workout in. But you’re saving your body from being burnt out. From negatively impacting your hormones. Your immune system. Your joint health. Sounds better to me.

Nolan Jones Sets Colorado Rockies Record With Fastest Outfield Assist This Period

Novice Brenton Doyle has actually been making a lot of of the headings when it pertains to the Colorado Rockies and outfield aids as of late, but Nolan Jones made certain to remind everybody of his very own cannon Monday night. Jones-- that still has newbie eligibility himself despite debuting with the Cleveland Guardians in 2022-- fielded a soft line drive to left in the top of the 6th inning versus the Chicago Cubs. One man had actually currently been available in to score on the play to give Chicago a 3-1 lead, however Jones saw to it the rally finished there. Right fielder Seiya Suzuki rounded third…
